DIY Outdoor Kerzen

Nach dem langen kalten Winter genießen wir es abends noch lang draußen zu sitzen. Begleitet von unseren tollen Outdoor Kerzen. Die sind schnell gemacht und erhellen den Abend auf schöne Weise 

Hier für euch eine kleine Anleitung

Ihr benötigt dafür:

- Kerzenreste oder Wachs aus dem Bastelbedarf. 

- sog. Fackeldocht (der günstigste Anbieter ist die Kerzenkiste) 

- Ein Metallgefäß mit bis zu 12 cm Durchmesser (Konservendose, Metallübertöpfe usw.)

- ein altes Metallgefäß zum Schmelzen des Wachs

-einen Topf

-einen Herd

- Bei Bedarf einige Tropfen Citronella Öl (Naturrein)

Nehmt die Kerzenreste (ich sammele immer den ganzen Winter über in einer Dose) und schmelzt es in eurer Metallschale im Wasserbad. Aus meiner Erfahrung  wird das Wachs schöner, wenn man es langsam, bei niedriger Hitze schmelzt.

Take the candle remains (I always collect the whole winter in a can) and it melts in your metal shell in the water bath. From my experience, the wax is better when it slowly melted over low heat.

Wenn das Wachs flüssig ist, schneidet ihr ein Stück von dem Fackeldocht ab, das ungefähr so hoch wie euer Kerzengefäß ist und taucht es einmal in das flüssige Wachs. Auf ein Stück Zeitungspapier oder so zum Trocknen legen.

Dann das flüssige Wachs durch ein Küchenpapier (falls Dochte und andere Verunreinigungen drin sind) in euer Kerzengefäß gießen. Ich habe in diesem Fall den Übertopf SKURAR von IKEA genutzt. Genauso schöne Ergebnisse könnt ihr aber auch mit allen anderen Metallgefäßen erzielen.

Möchtet ihr eine Anti- Mücken- Kerze kommen VOR dem Umgießen noch ca. 8-10 Tropfen von dem Citronella- Öl in das Wachs. Gut umrühren.

Jetzt lasst ihr das Wachs etwas fest werden. Je nach Durchmesser des Gefäß kann es so 15- 20 min dauern.

Wenn das Wachs leicht fest ist drückt ihr den, durch das Wachs steif gewordenen Docht, in die Masse. Passt dabei auf das der Docht gut mittig sitzt. Das begünstigt dann das gleichmäßige Abbrennen der Kerze, wenn sie fertig ist.

Jetzt komplett fest werden lassen. Dabei sinkt das Wachs noch ein bißchen rund um den Docht ein. In diesem Fall einfach noch ein bißchen Wachs nachschmelzen und wieder aufgießen

BITTE BEACHTET: Diese Kerzen sind NUR für den Außengebrauch! Der Fackeldocht rußt stark.  Die Kerzen sind relativ windfest, jedoch bitte nie unbeaufsichtigt brennen lassen!
